I know you can dissable the speed sensor on non SE modles, is it possible to do this with the rev limiter?

get a JWT ECU

I dont think its too good of an idea to go over 6.5k anyways, not without some modifications to your internals so you dont break nothing!

It's the top speed limiter that is removed on GXEs. SE doesnt have one to begin with. I removed my top speed limiter to save weight

Yeah but you know me ben, if i could remove the rev limiter then I could really streatch out that MEVI power band. I am sure it can be done without the ECU. It would be dangerous, but I also have a shift light.

the shiftlight is to ensure you do not extend past 7K while racing.
I can't believe you said i sounded like a honda owner. I have better sense than that.

i'm not a kid guys. I was just wondering so that I could try shifting at 7K once or twice. at the track this weekend. I really want to see wy MEVI shine, I do plan on purchasing a JWT ECU soon.

Only thing I can think of is an Apexi RSM (Rev Speed Meter). Also, you do realize that you're still losing power at redline right? The JWT serves several functions: tunes the A/F, increases the redline, and advances timing. The RSM probably costs at least $200 and is really only useful for raising the rev limiter.

the main thing I want to be able to do is shift gears without leaving the VI range.

With just a raised/removed rev limiter you'll run slower at the track anyway. The VI is cool, but it's not the solution to everything.

All I have to say is Maximas don't have VTEC. We have The power since we touch the 1RMP , but it goes away at high RPM

I have power at high RPMs! =P Many of us do now! Hahaa.

Plurco:
Just wait for the ECU, its safer that way. And the ECU doesn't just raise the rev limiter. It will give you some power all around also. If you decide to definitely get the ECU, hurry and order it. I've been waiting for mine for a month now.

Easy way to go past 6550 without ECU:
Go to second gear at 90 mph. =P I just saw a video of a RSX do that. WOW! The tach like flew past all the numbers and was pointing straight down! No ECU needed for this mod. :P

FYI: There is no such thing as removing a rev limiter on a EFI vehicle. The limiter can only be raised to a higher point within the limitations of the ECU.
