I was pulling out my cigarette lighter plug so I could charge my cell when the entire mechanism came out. No big deal I'll just put it back in and turn it to lock. As I'm pushing it back in the entire plastic rim on the console breaks into pieces.
It was like it was brittle plastic(maybe the prior owner had glued it back). So now I have a nice juicy hole in my dash and my lighter is just dangling there.
Just when I was about to start fixing other little quarks another pops up!
Does anyone know where I can buy the Plastic shift console online and has anyone purchased one before?
It's ironic though cause I'm about to receive my Leather shift boot so I'll have to take the console off anyway to put the boot on and I might as well buy a new console and do it all at once.
Thanks ahead of time,
Boo

you prolly wont find it...ive been looking for it for like 6 months...i broke mine with spirited shifting though..hehe
I fixed mine by doing this;
- Glued the lighter socket back into place from the back so it looks good from the front
- unplugged the wires to the lighter socket and plugged them into an aftermarket 3-way lighter socket which is fastened to the back of the console
- Plugged the lighter socket hole with a little rubber "No Smoking" lighter plug.
All looks very factory, and the lighter socket won't break again. If I break the new one then it was only $10 from NAPA so who cares.
