radio shack wire wrap

what size (diameter) radio shack wire wrap should i get to make it a ghetto isolation sleeve. also how many coils top and bottom should i wrap? doesnt wraping it make the drop less since you now have something in the way of making the spring compress to the fullest..or is it negliable.

i don't remember the dia of the wrap that i got, but you can eyeball it at the store...and i wrapped the first three coils at the top and bottom...and NO it will not reduce your drop in ANY way...

I'm not sure if there are sizes. The spiral wrap expands. You don't want the heat shrink wrap. You want the spiral wire wrap.
