I believe cattman only sells the SS pipe now. It last longer.

Jet-Hot is a coating; SS is the material >>

jet hot vs stainless

As long as the Jet-Hot coating is not scratched off it would provide maximum protection against thermal and environmental corrosion. Once it is removed, it bares the pipe material to the elements and offers no protection. Stainless steel piping is NOT rustproof, but since it is the actual material it will last longer than a scratched up Jet-Hot coated pipe.

While the Jet hot reduces the underhood temps your exhaust will not rust from the outside in, it will rust from the inside out. Go to any exhaust or muffler shop and look at the tail pipes they take off, always rusted from the inside.
http://www.muskegonbrake.com/ go to the exhaust section and read what they say about aluminized steel and 409 stainless before you spend on something which is basically overkill.
409 stainless has a burn through temp of 1700 degrees plus 304 slightly higher, get to either temp and your engine is already toast. The 409 stainless we use for our WSP pipes costs more than the aluminized steel, not sure about anyone else's. We even discussed jet coat but felt it was not worth the expense.
Just an opinion, based on facts.
