Need help with draining the cooling system

In the middle of draining the cooling system, after unscrewing the drain plug and emptying the radiator, I got up to emptying the engine block drain plugs and could not find them. Well, to make a long story short, I located them but realized: 1)the block drain plugs are difficult to reach 2)when unscrewed, the block drain plugs may leak onto other parts. Does anyone have suggestion from prior experience? Thanks for anyone's time and effort who offers feedback.

I don't have prior experience, but I have read ( http://www.motorvate.ca ) that such little amounts of coolant will be removed if you remove the block drain plugs that it is not worth the difficulty they cause.
