Cold Air intake installation

I am installing a CAI, I have read the how to, but would like to know whether the stock ram air scoop should be put back on, or left off? Also I wanted to clean the throttle body to get better gas mileage (getting >17 right now), can I do that b4 or after the installation, I'm a beginner, please help.

Your stock air scoop wont have ahywhere to feed so it comes off and stays off. As for the TB, it makes more sense to do it before completing the CAI install but you can take off that first section of piping fairly easily.

If you have a INJEN CAI you have to take the scoop out. If you have a bomz or place racing CAI you really have no need for the scoop. And clean your throttle body while you are installing the intake. GO to autozone or napa and pick up air intake/throttle body clean, just spray and wipe its really easy.
