Altezzas-IS 300 Conversion

I was wondering if anyone has painted just the trunk altezzas (aka Skyline conversion)and left the outside lights chrome? I think it would look pretty good, I like the IS 300's lights. Any opinions?

uhh no.

Regular altezzas for the max are guady and ugly IMHO. Nothing like the factory altezzas on the IS300, they look of more quality than aftermarket altezzas for the max. I have seen something similar though, done with reg max lights, not altezzas..

on a dark car perhaps CF or painted altezzas would look ALRIGHT at best...

I have a 96 Maxima and there is not a whole lot you can do with the tail lights. I would like to get red clears, but you know the story there. I am trying to make the best of a bad situation. I was thinking of getting carbon fiber tails, carbon fiber trim pieces from Capvent, and possibly later, a carbon fiber hood.

I must know your thoughts.

Heya Eric (and all),

I invite you to have a look at my (hopefully not gaudy) carbon fiber Gen 2s over at my page and tell me what you think. I am really particular about what I put on my car and I really think these look good - otherwise I would have gone with red/clears. It may just be my opinion but I have gotten SO many other Max's pulling up to me at lights asking about them I have to think it's not just me. People tell me they look better than factory even. From a distance or in the dark the design of the LED rings and the 3rd brakelight is exactly like a Skyline GT-R, which I think is pretty kickin'. In any case, since you might see me at the next meet I'd like to know if you think they're foul beforehand. :]

The color contrast between the tan car and the carbon tail lights looks great dude...I think they look better on your car than on my white or even black cars.

What kind of chrome bulbs do you have in the rear turn signals?

i also wonder how that would look.

You can ask someone to do a photoshop just to get an idea on how it would look.

Re: Re: I must know your thoughts.

Wow, thanks! I enjoyed seeing them on your white Max; so far I had only seen these on my color, black and red Maximas. I would not say they look better on my color than yours by any means, but I humbly accept the compliment. Here's a link to the auction I got the chrome bulbs from - He's a good seller and should be able to help you out:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33717

I like them because they don't color the reflector like amber glass bulbs would... the only other way to do it is an LED bulb but then you don't get the reflection, just a straight beam... so this is the best alternative I had found. He has told me he should have my backup (921) bulb in chrome within a couple months. I'll keep you posted.

I haven't before, but I like what you did...where did you get the darker Max logo? I'm going to need the Nissan logo from the trunk to go on the MEVI, so as long as I'm taking that one off I might as well change the other emblem as well.

Just hit the Maxima emblem up with a couple coats of black and clear coat and you're set.

Or you can leave it shaved. That's my personal opinion.
