Isn’t it an indication of some kind of air leak?

youre hearing that because of the open air filter. i can hear that when the car is parked. just put your ear close to the hood by the intake

mid pipe measurements?

First I was fortunate enough to win an Ebay auction for a Frankencar adapter and a K&N RC-4700 filter. These were leftover from a full FC midpipe kit. I am very impressed with the pick-up and the WOT that just the K&N alone produces. Getting rid of the rest of the air box makes the engine compartment look so clean and uncluttered.

On to plan B... I got in on the group deal and purchased the polished aluminum (curved) FC midpipe. The question I have is will it fit? Can anyone tell me what the dimensions are for just the curved midpipe? Right now with the accordion coupler and stock resonator there's less than an inch left from the chrome end of the filter to the fuse box connectors on the interior fender edge. I have read at least one post where someone broke the connectors loose from the fender and laid them down below the filter end. A rough measurement of the resonator and accordion to the MAF is six inches. If the picture of the aluminum 95/96 midpipe on the FC website is to scale - it measures about nine inches. I should think though with the RC-4700 being what FC is selling with their midpipes then there's nothing to worry about. I only wish it would hurry up and get here - I PayPalled them on 11 May and was told it would ship out on 15 May.... I am ready to hear the SSS sound from under my hood.

Be Safe, Mark V. (time to change the mods list)

connectors?

so then if it is normal, will I have to break loose the connectors and lay them under the filter or will it all fit like a glove?
Anyone else wondering about making a heat shield like the one shown on the FC website? Be Safe, Mark V.

So I step on the gas pedal while the car is on parked. I do not hear any hiss sound, only hear it while driving with my window down. What do you think?

i dont hear the hiss either unless I am in Drive. (or reverse?? havent tried). I think the reasoning for that is because the amount of air being pulled in when you are in drive is much greater than just being in park.
