POS tranny!!!!
Ok, I got my car back from Nissan about 2 weeks ago. I took it in to have the transmission replaced. It took them 2 weeks to diagnose and 'fix' my problem. They said it was the transmission solenoid and replaced it under warranty... now it seems like to me, they could have found a bit more than just a solenoid in 2 WEEKS. When I took the car in I had a full tank of Premium gas, and typically got around 75-80 miles before the gas hand moved, now I get 50-60. When I got my car back, there was no gas, and I found a receipt in there for low grade crap, which they also burned an entire tank of. I keep my car meticulously clean, and when I got it back, I had a crack in my windshield, a bug covered car, and road dirt everywhere. Anyways, they said my car was fixed, and it was....for 2 days. It started off just messing up once or twice a day, to now every time I drive it. Considering I haven't mentioned the troubles..... here they are. When I'm driving around at speeds of 45+ (probably does it even when im going slower, just can't notice it) it downshifts to 3rd, and stays there, when I take my foot off the gas, the rpms go all the way down to idle. When I put my foot back on the gas, they shoot back up to where they were. When the car shifts finally to 4th of it is a very hard shift. Also when going under 25 mph, with slow acceleration, it is almost a neck breakingly hard shift to 2nd. This will be the 2nd trip to the stealership in my less than one month of owning it, so Nissan's 'reliability' is not getting a good mark from me! If anyone has had similar problems, and a solution that was permananent let me know! Sorry for the long message, just had to vent my frustrations somewhere! Thanks for the help if anyone replies!
Believe me i know your fustrations with Nissan dealerships I have a 99 SE 5 speed which i bought last July and been having issues with my clutch/tranny from day 1 they gave the car with a worn clutch and no rear brakes it took them 2 1/2 weeks just to get the throwout bearing and finally replaced it so it should be fine right?WRONG after the car is driven for a while the clutch starts to really groan when you step down on it whether the car is on or not!and is very loud when you take of slow in 1st gear or reverse so they replaced the throwout bearing again and said it was fixed WRONG no differance any way to make a long story short my car has needed wheel bearings all around a new ECU a frozen rear brake callipar and a oxygen sensor now the fuel pump is starting to make noise once in a while which i hope is just a clogged fuel filter.this car was really abuised by the former owner thats the only thing i can think of so i am now filing a complaint with the NY state attorney General i hopes of getting my money back.Nissan Dealerships are all owner operated and not govered by Nissan thats why they suck so bad they Don't have to answer to anybody!
