Combined Clearance/Blinker/Sidemarker rewire

Last night i was reading the FAQs and came upon Mingo's instructions for rewiring the Clearance lights to the blinker. Then I read the maximadriver.com How2 on rewiring the bumper turn signal to the bumper sidemarker so they blink in unison and inversely when headlights are on. Then i read a thread with someone asking if they had done both but nobody had responded to it... so i decided to go for it. I also removed a nub off the 1157 bulb in the clearance lights to put it in the opposite way to make it brighter.

Result: no blown fuses... yet. As I suspected, a lot of power is being drawn. in daytime mode (headlights/parking lights off) the signals blink at the normal rate, but in nighttime mode with all the lights on, it takes nearly 3 seconds for the next blink.

My wiring, for those unfamiliar with this mod, is as follows:

Clearance Light.... (+) is left alone, (-) is connected to Sidemarker's (-)

Sidemarker .... (+) is left alone, (-) is connected to Clearance (-) and spliced to TurnSignal's (+)

TurnSignal .... (+) is spliced from Sidemarker's (-), (-) is left alone

I'll try reversing the 1157 bulb to see what difference i get. Assuming i'd want to keep the "denubbed" 1157's brightness, what can i do to return the signal frequency to normal?

hmmm.. the "denubbing" of the 1157 bulb was the problem for sure. I prefer the brightness of the clearance lights and left it so the bumper side marker stays on, and the turn signal and clearance light blink inversely.
