Recently ive been noticing that after a long drive or if the car has been driven a little bit hard, when i stop and open the door and get out, i smell this weird disgusting smell comin from the car. Smells liek rotten eggs or some sort of crap. Anyone kno what this is that causes this? Is this normal?

Try changing brands of gasoline...... Some cars dont like certain brands of gasoline for some reason......

do you have wet cloth in your trunk?? i remember i had them in my trunk and it smelled like $#!T during raining day......i hated it

if you get it after driving hard or long, it could be tranny oil... since mine has been leaking, my car sticks of tranny oil (and tranny oil sticks bad)...

u guys ever smelled a tranny that has been covered by dirty tranny oil and other road crap?? oh not to mention, the tranny casing would be really really hot...

Before my max I used to drive a 240sx had the same problem and like other say here CAT CONVERTER for sure man ))

 

thats what happens with my altima . its automatic and when i push it to over 3 rpm, some kind of bad smell comes up for few minutes then goes away, i guess its the engine workin too hard :P

 

Should be the cat. If I remember correctly, sulpher smells like this.

 

Might be a high sulfur content in the gasoline.... try a different gasoline first....
