Always On Cruise Control

Ok, this has been posted before - but I can't do a search and throw myself to those that can.

I would like to know the directions / wiring of the relay so my cruise control is always at my beck and call. Thanks in advance!

I have the Dan B. Martin always armed cruise mod. I've done it on both my 1990 and 1997. It's simply jumpering a wire in the fuse box by the battery if I rememeber correctly. I'll take some pix when I get a chance, but the place I'm living at right now is being tented for termites and I can't get to my car or digital camera, which is parked in the garage, until this weekend. You can also tell which pins need to be jumped by looking at the diagram on the side of the relay itself.

One of the two under-hood relay boxes has a relay labeled "ASCD". Remove the cover, and remove the ASCD relay. The relay has 4 terminals. You'll need to close the circuit, which is terminals 3 and 5 on the relay. These terminals are across from and perpendicular to each other. The other terminals are across from and parallel to each other. You can also see which terminals are which by looking at the underside of the relay.

Fashion a jumper wire of some sort. I used two crimp-on spade connectors and a 2" piece of wire. Put one end where terminal 3 went, there other where 5 went. Put cover back on. You're done.

Let me know if that's not clear.

The green lighted switch on the side is to turn on/off the cruise control (press left side to turn ON and press right side to turn OFF). When you reach the speed you want (like 60) you press the SET ACCEL button (the bottom one on the wheel) and you'll be cruising at 60. When you press CANCEL (the middle button) the cruise control will stop. The top button RES ACCEL is to resume acceleration at 60 again if you had to brake or something. To turn the whole thing off, just press the green lighted switch to the right and it'll turn off.
