You can try adding a b-pipe (you jus added the muffler rite? not a whole catback). the stillen one doesn't have a resonator, that should make it somewhat louder...

Cheap solution= Goto a muffler shop and cut out the resontor and weld in a straight pipe. Assuming that the Naxos is a straight thru muffler, this will make a HUGE difference in sound. Warning: The muffler will resonate very loudly inside your car now!

More $$ solution= Goto a muffler shop and get a custom 2.5" catback piping without a resonator. You'll be setting off car alarms left and right. I had this setup with my Apexi N-1 muffler for a month, it was fun but too loud for me. You could feel the rumble of the exhaust from inside the house when I start the car inside the garage. I put it a resonator and it quited it down and made the tone smoother too.

Just get a b-pipe w/o a resonator, like the stillens. I have the same exhaust as Mighty Max, and that thing is hella loud w/ the y-pipe and b-pipe.

Muffler not loud enough

My answer would be to put on our WarpSpeed y-pipe, if you don't have one already. It will really increase the flow and will add a noticable H/P gain as well, and it will increase the sound. Our y-pipes for the 4th Gen go for $265 Aluminized steel, and $360 for the SS version. See our web site WarpSpeedPerformance.com

add a y-pipe

I had an arospeed muffler that wasn't loud enough, but then i added a y-pipe and hello sound, It is much louder but not annoying. Don't cut out the resonator if you plan to get a y-pipe later because the sound will be too much, and you will want to get it put back on.

Well...

- Either follow all the previous advice, go all out with an exhaust (Y-pipe, new Cat, B-pipe, muffler), or try this innovative and cheap solution:
- Step 1. Buy/rent/borrow a sledgehammer...
- Step 2. Whack the muffler until you get a nice, loud exhaust leak.
- Step 3. Return the Sledgehammer
- Step 4. Hope to high heaven that you didn't break or bend anything too badly
- Step 5. Enjoy the Ride.

You can fill the muffler with water. Let it soak. Just stick a garden hose in there. Fill it till the water comes back out. And then turn the car on. The muffler will make a whole new sound... =D

JK!! Don't do it. Warning about wanting more noise. You may get it.. and hate it. I drive lots of "sports cars" that my friends own. And cruising in their cars is sooo annoying. The drones. I get back in my car and love it. The quiet power of it. It roars when I floor it. It whispers when I cruise. =)

How did you just get the Greddy muffler. I'm thinking of getting a new muffler, b/c girlfriend is complaining my exhaust is too loud.

I've got the GReddy catback system with its B-pipe, which includes a resonator. It droans a little around 3,000 RPM, but not too bad. I really like the growl it has under wide open throttle. It's like an intimidating, growling dog. I can't wait to get my Y-pipe & RT Cat on there this summer.
