Manual Shuddering??

ok if there was a "n00b" section i wouldve posted this there

but ok heres the deal:
im buying a 98 white nissan maxima 5spd tomorrow and i had it all checked out and everything....BUT

when im driving along at higher rpms like 4k or so and i let go of the accelerator the car kinda shifts forward, yes i know it could be due to the fact that higher RPMs without pushing on the accelerator causes deceleration but when i drove my friend's mustang 5spd (2002) it didn't really have this problem unless i tapped the pedal a few times.

The feeling is similar to how if you downshift to slow the car down...a large jerk forward

this will be my first 5spd car although i practiced alot in my friend's car... (10hours or so over the course of a month)

so my real question is: "Should I be concerned?

i think its the engine mounts that are kind of shot...
its nothing to worry about...i think most people's maxima's do that
i know mine does
when you let off the throttle, the engine moves a bit.
i know when my friend got poly engine mounts, the problem went away.

Dev: but should a 98 (or your 99) do this?? i mean the motor mounts are barely 5 years old?!

my friends is a 98 and mine is a 99 with only 35k miles
this is my opinion of why 5spd mounts die faster than auto. you have to take your foot off and back on the gas everytime you shift...and that rocks the engine back and forth. after awhile the mounts will have gaps in them.
they cost about $275 from some place like energy suspension or something like that...if you're that worried about it.
or you can just learn to be very light on the throttle, which will lessen that "forward motion jerk".
