Which strut tower can I mount my cap on?

I want to screw my capacitor into one of my strut towers, but I have no idea what is behind there. Can anyone tell me 100% sure which one I can screw this into? The screws will stick out no more than 1/4 inch on the other side ...

You should be fine with a screw that will stick 1/4" out. The closet thing to the otherside of your strut tower is your spring which sits more then a 1/4" away.

Back when I did car stereo installs, you were suppose to mount your cap with the shortest wire as you could to your amp, so you weren't affected by the voltage drop of a long run of the wire. So generally right next to your amp. That's what the cap is for anyway, to keep the voltage near your amp up.

drewm - I realize the form and function of a cap. My question was, which strut tower to mount it to so that it can be less than a foot from the amplifier - it can actually be mounted out of the way and right next to the amp.

KMax2988 - I don't want to offend you or anything, because I am 99% sure you are right, but are you absolutely 100% sure there are no wires, or the gas tank or anything behind each strut tower? I'm obsessive-compulsive like that ...

Didn't realize you meant the rear strut tower but I am almost certain that their are no wires behind either one. It's been about 2 yrs since I did my spring install but I surely dont remember fiddling with any wires or seeing any for that matter. If you want to be sure, jack up the rear sides of your car and peek your head in there with a flashlight. Hope that helps.

I thought u meant front too. No place under the hood for that thing. Yea, there shouldn't be any problem mounting it back there.
