i originally wanted to order a set of half red tails but they are on like a 2 month delay. if i buy a set of fully clear ones and paint them myself will they turn out just as good? (assuming i dont mess them up, but i painted my old ones for a civic). which paint do i need? do i need to spray clearcoat as well? should i also put a coat on the half that is already red on my trunk piece so it mathches a little better? if anyone has done this mod themselves i would really appreciate some help.

Actually I never changed out the red bulb.....so it loox good......I would imagine that the OEM clear bulb would look equally good as well....The red ones alwayz would turn pink b4 I painted them. But this was with the clear lens and not the 1/2 clear/red combo. You will need the orange turn signal as the lens for that on the aftermarket lens is clear, compared the the OEM orange lens cover.

I painted mines this weekend. Its was not hard just have to take your time! I went one coat to much, but its not that far off you have to come right up on the car to tell the diffrences. The oem looks alittle liter. But I was told it looks fine. The paint job came out real good. What I F**t up on was, after painting the light was removing the maskin tape and I put a small crack in the top clear part on one of them. I want to but and paint another set now that I know how to.... but that will be the last thing that I do. Tires and H&R first.
