Rust Problem

Has anybody use(forgot the name)some sort of rust harderner .This paint is in a tube and it claims that when applied to the rust the paint in the tube will bind with the rust to form a hardened protective covering of the metal. Is there any truth in this?I have two rust problem,1.the 2 metal tubings (1 inch in diameter) between the engine and the radiator 2.metal frames below the engine. I appreciate very any suggestions how to remedy these problems...thanks

I've used "Naval Jelly" on my old '78 Camaro, and it totally stopped the rust from spreading. I am guessing this is similar to what you have. Basically, it claims to convert rust in to a hard, paintable surface. Mine was on the body of the car, and I painted over it after it converted the rust. Owned the car for another 5 years, and had absolutely no more problem with that spot.
