Auto-Dimming Mirror with Compass installed(pics)

All i had to do is run two wires, a 12+ and a ground, and get a window button mount so that i could mount it to the window (stock mirror uses a roof mount.). The rest gets done automatically, the little display even dims itself when it gets dark outside.

Cool, I've been looking for one of these for a while now. Does it install to the bracket the factory mirror uses, or does it stick on the windshield?

how does the compass know which way your car is facing?? After all, the mirror isn't facing straight forward.

the sensor is located on the mouting part that connects to the mount on the glass.

Here are some day pictures.

You can see where i mounted the mirror to the glass in the first picture. Also you can see that I had to use a screw to keep the trim piece on, it used to attach to mirror roof mount. And I also ran the wires trough the opening in the trim piece. It looks very nice and clean.

as for the blue window switches, i just replaced the green led's with blue.

did you find it for less than $149.99? Because i've wanted one for a long time, but it seems impossible to find them for less.

it was a two wire install, all you need is a 12+(Sig. Lighter) and a ground. I ran it across the headliner, down the A-pillar and behind the dash. And i got it for 59.99 from ebay and the guy even included the mounting button for the glass. If you scroll up I have the ebay link there, the guy might have more.

I did not find any that mount to the factory spot, maybe the i30's that came with it a dimming mirror.

As for the temp, i retrofitted my climate control to read the temp so i didn’t need the mirror to do that.
