Question about keeping it NA

Well, I have decided to try to keep my car NA rather than Turbo just because I can't afford the turbo and that its too much maintance for a daily driver. So far I have my intake, ypipe, race cat, full cat-back exhaust and SAFC II. I am planning on a VI, clutch, flywheel, pulley and maybe even a ECU. What I really want to know is if there is anything else that I can do, like port and polish heads, that would squeeze more power out of our engines? Thanx.

Not sure he can. He's a 98, they don't make ECUs for them. And I don't think he could take a 96 ECU either.

Also, the stillen supercharger kit isn't really high maintenence at all, lots of guys have them with very little problems (after that one issue with stillen and the V2 was sorted out)

The 96 ECU will work in a 98, people have done it before.. It's just the 99s that are out of luck.

The V2 came with a plastic pulley that would melt, most of the guys replaced that with one machined out of metal and finally stillen acknowledged the issue and (supposedly) fixed it. The V1 kit never had a problem.

ch13f: Aaaaah, that's why I'm out of luck, I thought it was more than just 99s like me

yea, I thought about the ecu I still may go that route but I have a safc with it dynotuned right, would kinda give me the same output (probably not as much considering the increase rev limiter but also costing it would cost more twice or three times as much as my SAFC and waiting however long), plus I getting a 96 ecu would cost me an extra $200 on top of it. So I don't know it I would want to go that route at this moment, that would probably be one of the last things that I'll get.

O BTW for those who thinks that my SAFC isn't doing much because I'm NA, well I am running pretty rich for some reason in my midrange and it brought me back to normal and then some. I try to get some numbers to back me up.

I also thought about a SC but for the amount of money that I would spend for it, I may as well get a turbo since it gives me more power.

then again if your doing like you say and get a VI then you will benefit more having that 7k rev limit.

Even though the ECU coupled with the SAFCII is sortof redundant, the ECU does more than just adjust fuel. It adjusts spark timing too, as well as raises the rev limiter (essential if you have an MEVI). An MEVI + 7000RPM limiter on your car would make it faster than you can imagine possible. It's not cheap but you gotta pay to play.

As far as the SAFCII do you have any dyno info after having it tuned?

Well, I plan to do the ECU eventually. I wanted to also know if there any internal engine work that can be done to free up or gain more power.
As far as the SAFC, me and my friend tune it as best as we could from my last dyno Air/fuel chart, I can post that tonight. I let him drive before and after we tune it and I can definitaley feel a difference, especially first and second gear midrange. I don't want to say that the SAFC would give good gains with any NA, but it sure felt better and I want to dynotune it hopefully within the next month so I can get a better idea how much different with or without it.

I'm curious to hear about gains associated with the larger Pathfinder throttle body on an NA 3.0 VQ. I know Krismax has the TB on his VQ and after he adjusted the TPS(?) he says if feels pretty good. I wish someone would do a Before and After dyno run. I know that people get really good results (6-9fwhp) on the SHOs and Contour SVTs with slightly larger TBs. We know we can make the Pathfinder TB work, it's just a matter of if anyone will do the before and after dyno.
