Euro Tail Fog Idea...Write-up included
Euro Tail Fog Idea...Write-up included
Some European cars (e.g., Volvo, etc.) have a rear fog light that shines a bit brighter than the tail lights to increase visibilty. This could come in real handy for those living near large bodies of water. As for me living in Utah, I just thought it would be neat to have something like that (I like to be different), so I came up with an idea. I don't have the pic ( I did a write-up on paper and scanned it) on my website yet, but if you are interested in my idea for dual rear fog lights (for under $5.00), let me know (send a Private Message) and I will e-mail you a pic of the write-up.

I find those lights to be very annoying when I'm caught behind a car with them on. It's actually just as bad as HID's glaring into your eyes. Very distracting.
Some Jaguar's for instance have them.

I am not trying to sell anyone on the idea—it is an idea, not a Wal-Mart special.
I personally would include a switch to turn them on/off whenever desired. They would not be any brighter than the tail lights, but a bit "orangier" than the amber blinker. I doubt that the "glare" would be too significant...depends on the wattage of the bulb you use, I suppose. If I get it done any time soon, I'll post a pic. I guess that would help the imagination.
