I plan to get the Cattman SS Y-pipe, which goes into a R/T Cat, and from there into a Stillen B-pipe, and finally into a Stillen SS Rear Section. Anyone know what kind of numbers that setup would pull? Also, is this the most practical setup for the money? Any help would greatly be appreciated!

VERY LOUD!
That stillen muffler only gives you a couple of HP for the noise it makes, not worth it to me. I'll keep my muffler stock and mod the living crap out of everything else.

My Exhaust

I decided to go with an APEX WS exhaust from the cat-back. I was looking at the Greddy and the Stillen. After some research and some opinions, the Stillen was a lil expensive and the Apex would give me the same results as the Greddy.

Sounds great, not too loud and if you're next to me....u will begin to wonder....

btw.....Why does your setup sound so complicated?

I've got this set up. And it is a bit loud. I got the B and exhaust used for a very good price, so that kind of make me feel better. I would recommend going with the Curtesy B since it has a resonator and some quieter exhaust such as Apex or HKS. Pretty much any but Stillen's.
As for HP gains, I've not had the car on a Dyno machine yet.
Low end power is minimal if any. High end is all good up to 120mph where my ECU cutts the fun off.

I hope this help.

The reason the price of the Stillen Stuff is not a concern for me is because I can get it at dealer price, but as you all say, the Stillen is really loud....so, since the Apexi or HKS ones are quieter, do they make less horsepower?

there is no horsepower loss for having a quieter exhaust. really there is not that much difference (hp wise) between them. except for the fact that a catback will make more horsepower than just a muffler. hope that answers your question.

Chew on this one.

When I had a HKS intake, Courtesy B-pipe, Stillen Y-pipe, and HKS muffler I ran consistent 14.9-15.0s@93mph. I sold my HKS muffler because my car was just too loud. My then car ran consistent 14.9-15.0s@94mph with a best trap of 96.5mph in hotter weather!!! Right there tells me the stock muffler works just fine and that aftermarket mufflers are more for show and noise.

I wanted to keep my stock muffler to restrict noise and keep the 5-0's off me. Everyone claimed it would "bottleneck" my exhaust causing loss of HP. Thanks for the clarification.

2k mufflers.....

Have a muffler shop weld on a 2K muffler to that set up instead of the stillen muffler.

Heh,

it's pretty loud. I'm running a similar setup, minus the cat & B-pipe. It's too loud for most people on the board however I've got a rigged stereo so I can just drown it out =P. The CAI drowns it out too at WOT, which is also pretty nifty.

that..

setup will give you a bunch of power. without s/c about 20-25 horses, with s/c about 30-35 ponies. ha and it is all stainless steel. boy that will always look good. you are the man, oh yea, it will be pretty loud. but thats what you want right? they say the rt cat eliminates droan, i dunno , don't got one yet.

I'm running everything except for the Stillen muffler on my 97. With just the CAI, RT Cat, and UDP I ran ~15.0s. Haven't had the chance to run after adding the y-pipe & b-pipe but I'm guessing a MT would be somewhere 14.7-14.9

I swapped out the b-pipe for the Courtesy (with resonator) and it's way loud even with the stock muffler. Big droan under throttle and even more right when letting up.

Watch those swivel flanges on the RTCat - they didn't make a good seal against the y-pipe and had to reweld a bit.

I will be installing the R/T cat soon, bought a slightly used one and am wandering what specifically you mean by "had to reweld a bit". Please elaborate on this. Thanks.

Well what exhaust set up would give the max that nice deep high pitch goggling sound like the bmw's because the remus exhaust on a 328i stick sounds sweet.

my setup

sup yall

my setup is place racing CAI, cattman SS y-pipe, soon to be getting a RT cat, into stillen b-pipe and stillen muffler section...all stainless. right now i dont have the ypipe installed, and the exhaust is way too quiet. im not a person who wants it to be quiet, so im definatly awaiting the ypipe and RT cat install.
