Need advice on relocating battery to trunk.

Has anyone relocated their battery to the trunk? Where in the trunk did you put it? How'd you tie it down? Problems? Suggestions? Pics? Thanks.

Not to my Maxima but yes on my Z28. On the RWD Z28 it made sense (to me), why would you do this to a FWD Maxima?

Sure. It is an old hotrodder trick. More weight over the rear tires means more traction. But why in a fron wheel drive car?

Probably for AutoX or maybe he is going turbo which requires that the battery be moved elsewhere.

I'm not that old! It gets better, if you think of the car as a lever and the rear wheels as the fulcrum, moving the +/- 40lb battery from 10' in front of the rear wheels to 2' behind... 40x10=400lbs/ft removed from the front and 80lbs/ft applied to the rear. Weight applied behind the rear axle helps get the front end up, front end up transferrs weight directly to the rear wheels for better traction.

I used a distribution block and ran 4ga cable back to the trunk (should use 2 or 0). Then put eybolts trough the floor and hooked my old j bolts in the eybolts to hold it down. I grounded to the seat belt bolt. I put it over the muffler area. I didnt use a box because it is a sealed battery, but if you dont have a sealed battery, get a box too (12$ from autozone)

PM me for pics
