96 max bose dead??

Today I turned on my car and no power to the bose system. I checked all the fuses under the steering column but to no avail everything was fine. Is there somewhere else I should be looking at? What could be the problem? Any help is appreciated.

sad in NY

Disconnect your battery for 5 minutes and then reconnect. If it doesnt work, you need a new HU.

Can't I just change some fuse on the HU, if it has one I can change. Or off to the junkyard I go...

you shoudl take advantage of the situation...go ****** a 7" microvision screen from the group deal going on right now, pop it in the bose spot, and get a new headunit in the storage compartment under it!

SOunds good to me. Its hard to get the Bose out of there, at least in mine. They are known for going dead. I havent replaced mine cause I would have to replace all the speakers too. Tell us how the disconnecting goes.

Try taking the fuse(s) out and putting them back in. I've heard this somewhere. Sometimes the fuse wriggles loose to the point that it breaks the electrical connection, but does not fall out.

Disconnecting the battery worked! My Bose system is back and operational. Yet what troubles me is that the "power completely off thing" could be a premonition of troubles to come. Or could it be a fluke? The Bose mysteries continue....

I am happy! I have been disconnecting it for about three months now when it craps out on me. You might not even have to wait that long, just a quick disconnection should do it. Good luck!
