Time to change brake pads

The brake pads on our maxima need replacing. Car is driven with about 75% being Interstate/Highway and 25% city driving. Would the car benefit from changing to an aftermarket brake pad... Porterfield, KVR, Performance Friction, Axxis...etc or would it be best to just stay with Nissan pads? Thanks all.

I put my second set of Porterfields on last week. They are the only pads I have ever had on the Maxima and I have never had any problems, or brake fade, so I see no reason to change.

I'd have to agree with WaarrEagle. I'll only ever use Poterfields on my street and track cars. After trying many different brands over the last 12 years, they are by far the best all around pad out there. Performance Friction probably come in second, as they take more heat to work than the Porterfields.

You're using the R4-S compound? How are they for dust?

Yes, R4-S for anything short of full track days. Dust is minimal and tons less than OEM pads!! I can drive for a week w/o much sign of brake dust. Great stuff!

I'm deciding between the two. Can you give a little more info on why you prefer the greens? Thanks.
