Question to those with an OBX exhaust---Just installed mine

I recently bought an OBX exhaust through the group deal. I picked this one basically because everyone said it looked good and was quiet except at WOT. I got it installed at a local minakee. First off, the B-pipe was too long, and hung to low so they had to cut some off the end, so it wouldnt hang so low. Then when I got it on the road it was really loud. Yes we checked it for leaks and there were none. I dont know what the problem is, it is really deep and throaty but also loud, too loud for me.
Also when I took it for the first run on the highway I pushed it on the entrance ramp and it didnt feel as fast as before. This is probobly a problem in my mind, but did anyone else feel this?
Thanks,
Dan

I think people's opinion of what quiet is varies by a large margin. As you've also pointed, the gains of a catback system are extremely minimal so you really won't see much of a difference. 3hp is pretty hard to feel. It might also take your car a little while to adjust to the different flow characteristics of the exhaust. Give it a couple of days and then see what your opinion is. I know that when I swap my hacked airbox for my HKS hybrid intake, there's a huge difference in part throttle and wide open throttle acceleration (slower with the hybrid) for about the first two days. I think it's the ECU adjusting. Many will disagree with me on this though.

i didnt cut my catback just had part of it softened and pushed upwards (b-pipe). I say obx is quiet because i had the liberty of comparing it to two other setups and it came out most quiet, but its just as quiet as greddy at idle. I felt a little improvement when i got mine installed but never the opposite way and mine was quiet since the beginning...

thanks for the replys, I'm gonna wait a few weeks, but I might have my muffler welded with another pipe to the OBX B-Pipe, so it will have a little grumble, but not overpoweringly loud.

also think about it compared to a stock exhaust where there was no sound, having any aftermarket setup will seem louder at first. Give it a few days for both you and your car to get use to it.
