i had 215/55/16 (stock) switched to 225/50/16 *don't like it* tire is too wid for rim in my opinion and it has movement on the rim when you take sharp turns (with speed) i'm switching back to 215/55/16...let's see what others say

I too switched from stock to 225/55. Looks a little better overall, as it's slightly wider and taller, but handling is compromised, as there is sidewall flex when pushed to the limits. Going back to stock when they need replacing in a few K. I highly reccomend Potenza RE 950's. I've put 50K on them so far.

I put the factory 215/55/16. Those seem to work fine for me. I put on falkens and they look very nice, hold the road well, especially in the rain and best of all, they're made in Japan

225-50\16 on stock rims for me. better performance, but shortens the sidewall making the 4x4 look more pronounced.

When my crappy Eagle RSA's wore out, I replaced them with Nitto NT 450's 225/50 16.

stock size and Dunlop Sport A2's. I love them but I only got them 2K miles ago. I have to admit, they are quiet.

Hey, guys...not to hijack the thread but what kind of tires you guys recommand for daily/rain/snow driving for a 99 se stock sized rims? I've ran khumo supras as my last 2 sets and I've noticed that they get bubbles very easily from driving on bumpy jersey/nyc roads. I'm probably ordering the khumos from tirerack again tonight but just wanted to see what yall thought. I also noticed that not many brands carry the stock 215/55/16 sizes...

P.s- ne one have an idea on how much a set of rear brake pads and shim kit would cost for a 99 SE maxima? thanks

I'd order the Potenza RE 950's in stock size (will be doing so shortly). As far as brakes, get the Rabestos quietstops from Rock Auto. I paid $86 shipped F&R.

Just got them 2 weeks ago. Best size for minimum error to speedo is 225/50/16. They are great in the dry & wet as well as quiet. I used to have Toyo Proxes FZ4 which pale in comparison.
