OK OK whats up y'all......I have a question.....before I got started with ym car and all my friend took me to a ghetto lil muffler shop. We then proceeded to remove my cat and make a "custom" b-pipe. It's 2 and 3/4 in diameter. wel he knew I didn't know much about my car and well when i asked baout what the cat was he just kinda BSed his way around the question.

Well here's the question.

What can driving my car without the CAT really do to my car and does it do aything for it

Driving without a cat will not hurt your car. However, it will really hurt your pocketbook if the DMV or police find out about it to the tune of thousands of dollars (up to $10k in some states I believe).

Put the cat back on, at least maintain some emissions restriction

For our cars, running without a CAT does not make that big of a difference. I would recommend that you stay with your stock cat because if the feds somehow catch you without one, you'll be a paying a hefty fine. Also, you might pi$$ of Captain Planet.

Is that the only mod you have? Ugh. The damage you're doing to the environment more than outweighs any miniscule performance advantage you're getting (if any?) by having that straight pipe on there. Put the cat back on, or at least a "high flow" one.
