Cracked Fogs WHY??????????????!!!!!!

So i am washing my max today and notice that BOTH!! of my fogs ar cracked horizontally accross the glass. WHAT THE HELL!!!. i havn't hit anything. Why would this happen. I did put some bright white bulbs in to match the headlights but iwasn't worried about them because the fogs are glass? I want to replace them so any ideas about how to keep this from happening again and where to get them. Anyone have some to sell used? i have a 97gle. damn fog lights!!!!! sorry im just venting.

Peace

So you put in higher wattage bulbs into the foglights?

If so, higher wattage = hotter bulb = heats up lenses = if hit a cold patch of air or water = cracked.

Higher wattage bulbs can and have cracked fog lenses. If you freeze glass then pour hot water on it, it will break. Same works unfortunately for your fogs, but backwards I guess. The heat from higher wattage bulbs is so extreme that a simple rain shower could be like throw'n ice on your already Red Hot Fog lenses....with a little time the lenses integrity is compromised...severely. Check your lenses with just the factory bulbs...its pretty D*am hot stock, up'n the wattage only makes things worse

R U sure U didn't hit something..or maybe something hit U & your fogs? I've replaced both fogs at different times, most likely from stray pebbles...

The bulbs are Eurolite's Ion Yellow. I got em at my local Custom parts shop. There actually about as white as stock from the front view, but the yellow in them is unmistakable when looking from the sides. There stock wattage too

It's the higher wattage bulbs as people have said. I've cracked 2 fog lenses myself so far...

Order the fog kit for $160 from http://www.garrands-nissan.com/

You get two fogs, a spare light stalk, relays, mounts, screws, AND THE BLACK PLASTIC PIECES THAT EVERY NISSAN DEALER INCLUDING GARRANDS DENIES THE EXISTANCE OF, for 160, as opposed to the regular dealership price of $180 for one foglight and thats it.
