i have a pretty good deck, i just need speakers now. i don't want super super thumping and vibrating bass, but i want something that can be pretty loud when i want it to, but be as crisp as possible.

say if i was in my garage, and my car was outside, i would want to hear a really good sound. is replacing your front/rear speakers good enough? or do i really have to get an amp?

thanks

umm.

i just got an amp with speakers dude. too bad my amp was too much for the speakers and i blasted the sh*t outa one of the speakers. now i have turned down the amp a lot. anyway, i would get descent speakers and a small amp to go with it. nothing big but just for clarity it would help. i would get speakers for the back and connect it to a small amp and get speakers for the front with tweeters. that should be good. later.

I would get a AMP set up also.. your speakers will sound lots better with a amp.. just make sure you don't get to much power running to them, Usually a 150watt amp will do, depending on the brand you get.. I'd recomment the Infiniti Kappa's , Polk Audio, and Clarions. Thoses are the best ones I heard so far..But thats my opinion also.
Happy shopping !

how much moolah

Are you willing to spend? I've got Boston Pro 6.5 seperates up front, you won't believe the clarity. If you get a 50x4 amp you'll do alright also. It all depends on what you want to spend, go to a shop and talk to them. Definetly shop around though!

getting an amp

ok, well i guess i've kinda been encouraged to get an amp. anyone have a good amp/speaker setup? and how much would that be? i just want to have a good idea of what i'm trying to buy before i go to a car audio seller.

oh, by the way, are 3-way speakers necessary for good sound?
