Clutch going bad?

My 97 SE has about 75k on it and while idling, it sounds like some bearings are scrapping or going bad. When I push the clutch in, the sound goes away. Clutch out, scrapping sound, clutch in, no sound. Anyone had experience like this before?

Thanks
Dan

Throwout bearing.... they can go quite awhile before they fail completely though.... But it's a whole clutch you'll need...

yup i have the same problem now, i had a mechanic at work(i work at a nissan dealership) check it out he said i had a bad throw out bearing and that i can still drive it until i start losing power then its time to replace which i am doing next week. this was about 3 months ago so it lasted pretty long and it costs the exactly the same amount to replace the bearing as it does to put a new clutch in.
