How to fix a dent ona door

I just bought my black 95 maxima SE 2 weeks ago, and yes this IS my 1st post. With the previous owner, some1 had backed up into the rear driver side door. The dent is about 6 inches across and the paint is not chipped. I got 2 questions. First, should I bang it out from the inside w/ a rubber mallet, or use a suction cup and pop it back into place? Second, IF I use the suction cup , the trim piece on the door is in the middle of the dent, so I don't know if the suction cup will b able to create a strong enough vacuum to pull out the dent?

Try the Ding King....That late night TV product that WIllie Mayes sells.

Some people on here have actually had good luck with it, as I recall.

I've read Ding King is crap (FHM magazine

As image said... "paintless dent removal" ... most body shops
do this. Just ask for an estimate, it should be $60/dent but
it really depends. I had PDR done for my hail damage... after
I got it back I felt better / cared more about my car.

I'm actually having damage fixed soon... (not PDR) ... scraped
my right rear quarter up trying to avoid hail next
time I'm just taking hail damage. (no hail damage actually
occurred this time)

Lemme know if the Ding King works..I had a basketball size dent on my passenger quarter pannel and I used a suction cup to pull about half of it out. There is a little bit left to pull that I couldn't get.

I've used the ding king. It works if the dent is not a crease in the metal.

I actually had good luck with Ding king. I was stupid and tried to see how much pressure was needed to be exerted to activate the alarm on my car. and so I tried to use my hip and push up against the car a few times... The end result... The alarm didnt go off, but I was left with a double quarter sized dent... Thank god for ding king... so now 99.9% of the ding is gone, and can only been seen if you knew it was there before. So if the dent isn't TOO large, sing king would work.

You said that the molding was right in the middle of the dent. That means that a suction cup might not work. A shop like a Maaco will probably charge around $200-300 depending on the size of the dent. They will also might have to replace the molding. You have to watch places like that, though. They are mostly independently owned and each place puts out different quality. A good shop will charge quite a bit more, but do a better job. Here in NC we have a place called Dent Wizzard that does the suction professionally. maybe start with a place like that, if your suction repair doesn't work.
