Sumitomo HTR+, who's running them?

I just ordered a set of HTR+ 235/45/17 to replace my worn out SP8000's. I read good reviews on Tire Rack. I want a smooth quiet ride with descent handling and that tire seems to provide just that.

Any other comments on that tire?

Ive heard that they are a pretty good tire, good all-season tire.

Hey, Tom, no comments on the tire, but that's an odd size - 234/45/17.

I have these set of tires. Previously I was using 730s

excellent performance tires, but noisy.
HTR+ are not noisy at all and quite acceptable in performance.

I have a set and have liked them, save for a warranty issue early on (resolved). When it is time to replace the only reason I would switch to another brand would be to change from 225/50/16 to 215/55/16.

I'm running 235/45/17 Sumitomo HTR+ on my 17x8 SSR Competitions. It's too early to tell, I have less than 300 miles on them.

They're good for the money- I've got my 225's for $80 apiece. They've got good bite early on....but once they start wearing down abit....I don't know bro. The traction's not as good, but it's alright. They're still the best pair I've had on my car.

I think the traction is amazing with these tires. They're also pretty quiet after they heat cycle for about a week or two. My compliant is that they wear out pretty quickly. I'll be lucky to get 18K miles out of these tires and I don't do burnouts or drag race with them.

i bought them for the all season performance
in the wet theyre pretty good
i didnt like them at first in dry handling but after i set my agx up another notch and gave them some more time to break in , theyre fun
im sure theres better out there but for the price its a good buy.
hope they last though

I like em, like others have said, they'r good all around for the price. I probably wouldn't buy them again, just cause I'm planning on going with something a bit more expensive (read. a lot) such as the Michelin Pilot Sports AS. For the price though, they'r hard to beat.

I like mine.

I haven't had them on long but so far I'm very pleased. I went through a pretty good rain storm a couple days after I got them and they did very well in the rain. Didn't jump or hydroplane once and I was running about 75-80 on the highway. I'm running a 225/50/16.

The fact that they don't have a treadwear warranty scares me. I'll probably get the Dunlop A2's soon.

I have them in 235/40/18 and have about 10k on them. They still grip hard in all weathers. I like them alot.

I notice that tirerack has the HTR+'s on special, $89 a piece in 235/45/17 size.

That is a great deal

Thanks for all the good feedback guys. Looks like I made a wise choise going with the HTR+. I saw them on George's car (geo1317) this past Saturday which made me research them. The feedback on Tire Rack was all good too. I'll let you guys know how they rank as soon as I have them mounted and balanced.

Kumho's vs Sumitomo's

I ran the Kumho Ecsta 712's for a while and am looking to change so something a little quieter. Thinking either Kumho 711 or the above mentioned Sumitomo's. Opinions???

SUMITOMO'S TIRES

Had mine for about 12000 miles and I like them alot. These tires took me through New York City and Vermont through the winter (alot of snow) and a crazy New York spring (alot of rain) and except for deep snow were they only thing that might work is snow tires or 4x4, I had no problems. For the price, they cannot be beat. They also look good shined up.

I like the Continental ContiExtreme Contact and Dunlop Sport A2's.

i've had the kuhmo 712's, bridgestone re930's, dunlop sp8000's, and now i have the dunlop sp5000's (only for about 1500 miles). and by far the dunlops have been my favorite tires. except for that the 8000's will wear very quickly, but i'm hoping to get ~30k from the 5000's. they are quiet, grip very well dry/wet, and will not hydroplane. i was driving 80+ with 1-2" of water on the road last weekend and they cut through like a knife.

Put them on wife's A4 about 5k ago. So far, they are ok. No too loud and ride it pretty good. Haven't really had a chance to get into them. My wife doesn't baby the car and she commented on wet weather grip (but the car is a quattro) and cornering
