When I bought 95 Max recently it had a set of Kelly Aquatour tires on it. I noticed a loud roar from the rear and thought it may be my rear bearings. Had my tires rotated and the noise was now in front. The problem was my two front tires. The guy at my local tire store told me the car was out of alignment and it caused my tires to develop dips. Now I have two that actually sound like snow tires. My question is, can being out of alignment cause tires to dip out so to speak? Just wondering cause i have never heard of this happening to anyone else. Thanks in advance.

May want to check your shocks too. Another term is cuffing or cupping. If the shocks are worn out, the tires will begin to bounce on the road possibly from being slightly out of balance. The shock then can't do its job to keep it somewhat stationary against the road.

Bad alignment will wear the tires unevenly and cause vibrations or excessive road noise. You might also want to check the front suspension to make sure nothing is worn out. Worn struts cause the front end to bounce over the dips and that wears out the tires too.

If you do get an alignment, remember that only the front wheels are adjustable on the Maxima. In fact, the only adjustment is front toe-in/out. So, don't waste money on a four wheel alignment...just get a two wheel alignment. Most shops don't know anything about Maximas and will recommend four wheel alignment, but if you do that, you will be paying more for nothing more than rear alignment readouts which you can't adjust anyways.
