crankshaft position sensor .. .should I care if it works?
My CEL came on the other day and I did the diagnosis to find out why its on and it threw 2 codes at me .
3 Way Catalyst and Crankshaft Position Sensor . . . now, what is the 3 way catalyst - should I worry about that? And the Crankshaft position sensor; should I bother with replacing it, my car runs perfectly fine, are there any long term harmful side-effects if I dont fix it?

Well, the crankshaft position sensor is important. If its not changed, your car may start to sputter, and eventually it won't start anymore. The only problem is that it is two of them to change. Each one will give its own code. When another member had a problem with his, we just changed both of them. The total cost for him was $116 from the dealer for both parts. One is located on the front of the transmission and the other is located next to the oil filter. They are very easy to change. The other code you're getting is for your catalytic convertor. It may be malfunctioning. Reset your ECU and see if that one comes back.
