Starter or switch

For a while now when any one other than me tried to start the max it would not start. I would always have to show them how to wiggle the key just right. you just had to let off a little and it would crank. Well now it’s doing it to me. The other day it would not crank for me. i had to pop start it. What’s weird is that it only seams to really act up when it really hot out side. Like in the morning it starts fine but after sitting at work all day in the sun it does not like to crank. Any ideas??

Thanks in advance

Ryan

my car had the same problem when my mom was still driving it. I'll have to give her a call and see what she had replaced cause I can't remember off hand.

It could be your ignition switch or it could be your starter solenoid. When it doesn't crank try hitting the starter with a blunt object (hammer screwdriver ect.) while someone is holding the key in the start position. If you have a bad solenoid alot of times this will cause it to start. There are also other way of testing it. If you are still having trouble with it you can email me and I'll walk you through one of the more indepth ways of diagnosing your problem.
