Can you say... Cefiro Headlights!!! Lots of new pix, HIDs, Exhaust...

Hey guys,
I have not had a chance to make the page look all nice... but here are some new pix.

http://maxima.cardomain.com/member_p...=217077&page=4

I got the cefire headlights from ange at redlinemax.com, great transaction overall! Since I was going out of town for all of July, she got mine for me a bit quicker than the rest of the GD.

My car is dirty and I need to repaint my bumpers. I dont want to hear a word about that tho! It was raining lightly when i took the pix, thats why the quality of the last pix are crap.

I took some closeups of the lenses so you can see that they are not a perfect fit. I had to chop a lot out of the inner fender to get them to fit. There are only two bolts on the center side of each light holding the lens in. No bolts or attachments of any kind on the outside by the fender. Let me know if you guys get ideas of how to secure them better, but mine are for sure not going anywhere.

You can see they bulge out a bit more than normal on the corners and the sides had a gap on the bottom side of the cornering light area towards the back of the light. I used some weather stripping to close the gap, so it looks pretty good.

These look SOOOOOOOOOOOOO hot in person!

I LOVE the HIDs too, 6500k looks awesome in the day, especially dusk, lots of blue. And at night they are SOOOO white! Mmmmmmmmmm!

I aimed them last night too, so they should be pretty damn good and not **** off oncoming traffic. The lenses have a very good beam pattern too.

The last pix, look terrible, but are not that bad, they show my magnaflow 14829 (i think) muffler. It fits the cutout perfectly and sounds fantastic.

Now i just gotta get 97-99 front bumper, stillen kit, rims and rubber and I think the exterior is set.

Lemme know what you guys think. I would be happy to answer any questions.

Good job....

Could you take a picture of the light pattern against the wall? You may have to cover the flash if you have one.

Oh, BTW depending on if there are mounting screws on the "side" of the Cefiro lights, you may be able to tac weld a bracket.

yeah, i can take more pix. i wont take the lights out right now if i dont have to for some other reason. but i had to zip tie the grill in place. there is a nub on the outer part of the lens kind of like the nub that holds the stock cornering lights in place, but there is no female place to attach it to. i am gonna run out to take some pix in the dark to show you guys the HIDs at night.

How much did you pay for the cefiro lenses? I thought the redlinemax HIDs were 9004 sized bulbs, or did you order the H4 variety?

the pics i took highlighted the not perfect parts and look exaggerated. in person it looks amazing, look at the full frontal pics and side profile pix, those are the most realistic looking ones.

it uses the same corner bulbs as stock. and you get nice dark amber bulbs with it too. the main bulbs are h4 though, not 9004. better beam pattern anyway.

I have been thinking a lot about these ever since I first saw them a month or so ago on the redlinemax site. The picture on their looked awesome! It was only a straight on shot (I don't see the pic on there anymore). Now that I see yours, at least I can take them off my 'to-buy' list. That fitment is unnacceptable. And I do not remember the website saying that they fit that poorly. If I remember correctly, they said they were 'direct fit'. Those gaps and seems would kill me. Shame on them for not mentioning ahead of time the poor fitment. That's almost as bad as how they actually ask for $.30 when you use PayPal.

this was never claimed as a direct fit mod. in fact it said quite the opposite "not direct bolt on, some modification to the inner fender required" or something thereabout. when pioneering new mods, expect some bumps. all i can say is that i have not heard one person complain about the fitment issues in person. in fact, three people, the first day i had them on, thought i bought a new car! i guess i made a mistake by highlighting the bad issues with these in the pictures. Also, when the rest of the gd gets theirs, they might find a better way to get them to fit, who knows, but this is the best I could do and in person it does look like an entire new car. i took some more pix, i will post them tonight.

I'm sorry, I don't recall the exact wording they used and like I said, I don't see the lights there anymore when I go back to the site. But I can handle "not direct bolt on, some modification to the inner fender required", I just can't handle all the gaps and seems and overlap and missalignment, etc. I am a perfectionist. I just think they should have said that on their website. I like the looks of the lights, they are real good looking lights, I just personally couldn't live with the poor fitment. Anyway, the important thing is that you like them Miasma, that's all that matters.

there is no way they could have known about fitment issues. before that gd, only 1 or 2 maximas that i know of had these. they are direct bolt on for i30s tho. again, the gaps are exaggerated in the pix, that was intentional. i just wanted to give an accurate representation of the lights. i had to cut a lot out of the inner fender to get them in and they still dont go in and out easily. but for the overall look, i think they are fantastic.

There is no way they could have known about the fitment issues on a product they are selling (for hundreds of dollars) and showing a picture of on their website???!!

yes.

these are lenses that ange had to order from taiwan. seeing as she was ordering them for herself at the same time, she couldnt know about the fitting. all anyone knew was that one or two people had success getting it to fit, that it was possible -- no more.

Thanks for posting the pics that show the worst parts of the fitment. Now those who are considering buying these can make an educated decision. I am still undecided.

These are made for a different car so you can't expect them to fit perfectly.

The bugeyedness seems that way becasue of the rounded 95-96 front end. Get a front lip and some yellow fogs and then it will look good both day and night. BTW really freakin nice lights.
