transmission/ overdrive prob, any advice

i just started feeling a wierd slip from my tranny and i need to know if anyone has gone through this or what i should do about it. my ecu says that the problem is= improper shifting to 4th gear / o/d, (AT)

it feels like their is no overdrive and i cant get the rpms to drop on the highway, the strange part is that in 3rd when i let off the gas the rpms go right down to 1-1.5 until i give it more to get the whels to spin at like 5 thousand. im not so sure what to do about it right now has anyone had this happen

oh i checked the tranny diagnostics and it led me to no problems and the fact that the diagnostic check worked makes me belive that the computer has to still be good maybe its a sensor? i just changed my o2 sensor that code finally disapeared any help? pEace

sounds like your converter isnt locking, try changing your tranny fluid

check your tranny fluid level, if its low or high it will slip and or lock you out of some gears.

good luck

it seems to me that the fluid itself wouldnt cause that problem and i dont know how the converter works but if that seems to be the problem then maybe your right does the flud itself have anything to do with locking the converter?

Based on what you posted above, your tranny may be on its way out.

Tranny fluid flushed ever:

This will help you to troubleshoot further.

I got the same problem, have had it for months now, haven't driven on the highway in what seems like forever. Changing the fluid can be the answer in this situation, but changing my fluid hasn't helped. I've been through all the same diagnostics, and Nissan tells me everything is fine with the transmission. It's just GOTTA be a sensor of some sort. I'd love to hear further opinions, it's a real bummer...

Good Luck with yours...
