Brake squeal related to turning and braking
While driving, the car makes a squealing noise that seems to be coming from the front. The noise is not constant, but rather repetative and short. I believe something is rubbing on the rotor at all times.
When I apply the brakes in any fashion EXCEPT very lightly, the sound goes away while braking.
When I turn the steering wheel, the sound also goes away.
The most bothersome symptom is when I push down on the brakes while coming to a complete stop (i have a manual transmission and usually do this in neutral). As the car slows down, the steering wheel turns to the right and the car steers this direction.
There is also a minute vibration in the steering wheel at highspeed braking also
These symptoms lead me to believe that something is up with one of the front calipers. Is there anyway to test and see if both sides of the caliper on teh front wheels are compressing evenly when the brake pedal is pressed?

while I dont think that threre is a way for you to test caliper piston compression I firly believe your on the right road the fron calipers need a rebuild or thr rotors are gone they might be saved by gettin them turned (If there is enough of them left.....take off both wheels and turn each of them with your hands and see if thet move extremely free meaning no sqeeling no hang ups

Ok lets pretend i jack up the car, spin the front two wheels, and both squeal. How can i tell if the problem is that the rotors that are warped or the calipers aren't compressing equally (one side stuck or something), OR that the problem is a combo of both?
One thing i have NOT noticed is any wheel being hotter than the others after a drive (including heavy braking right before stopping/checking). This makes me think none of the brake pads are permanently stuck against the rotor...but this idea conflicts with why the steering wheel turns right and the car pulls as I apply the brakes while coming to a complete stop. What to do what to do...

i just jacked the car up and spun the drivers side wheel. it didn't continue to spin when i let go. i heard rubbing while i turned the wheel, so i think the brake pads are slightly touching the rotor.
what grease should i use and where should i put it? ive never regreased calipers.
