Eibach + GR2 review (very detailed)

After riding on eibachs for 1 year with worn out stock shocks, I finally got around to putting in kyb gr2s. A very big thanks to Delvin for stopping by afterwork and helping me. My brother bailed on me and I never would have installed this shocks without him that night. Front suspension is definitely a 2 man job. Delvin is a big guy but he is such a detail oriented person and when he helps or works on your car he makes sure EVERYTHING is done properly. When he opens his own garage one day I'm gonna take all my family/friends/cousin's cars to him. lol.

Ok here is the review. With aftermarket springs, even with brand new performance shocks/struts, the ride WILL NOT be as soft as stock. I'm not saying the ride is harsh by any means, it just feels very firm and controlled, but the ride is definitely stiffer than stock SE. With the new GR2s, my car feels so much like how a stock 300ZX feels. One of my friends from school has a mint condition 95 Z with only 40k miles, and that car rode very stiffer than I had expected. Talk about minimal body roll. And the 350Z I test drove other week, it was very stiffer than I anticipated too. Thats how a sports car is supposed to ride and feel, and my max is finally like that. And the new shocks surprisingly reduced the body roll too. The handling on my max is SOO MUCH better than my mom's stock 97 SE. I'm VERY HAPPY with this setup.

And 2 days after the shocks went in, I got 4 new tires. I went from 225/50/16 performance tires to 215/55/16 all seasons, and that made a HUGE DIFFERENCE in ride quality. It made the ride a lot softer and compensated for the stiffness of the eibachs. Just getting new tires made as much difference as getting new shocks. TIRES = VERY IMPORTANT FOR RIDE QUALITY. If aftermarket springs/shocks combo still feels too stiff for you, try putting in a set of 225/55 touring tires. It makes TONS OF DIFFERENCE.

There is this stretch of road I pass everyday and its got small potholes and small bumps all over. With the old shocks, my car would rock up and down and up and down and the car would feel like a boat riding on waves. Now, all I feel and hear are small brrrrps and brrrrrps when going over the bumps and the car feels and rides very nice. I COULDN'T BE HAPPIER! So if you still got stock shocks with aftermarket springs, hurry up and get some GR2s or AGxs or whatever you want!

thanks for reading.
