Building Auto tranny

I'm back and forth about doing the 5 speed swap. Recently i read an article in super street where someone had an auto tranny built up to hold 550 hp in an altezza, and i was wondering, for that general effect what will it cost to do something similar although not so extreme to our trannies? Beyond the VB mod of course what do you guys think is it even worth it? I remember reading that a few of the fastest maxima's are turbo'd auto's so how much money and work does it take to get out trannies to handle as much as out motors? I'm thinking around 400-450 hp, what will it take money and work wise for our trannies to handle that?

It won't take much (theoretically) to build a tranny to handle more power. Up the line pressure to increase the clamping forces that the pistons exert on the bands and clutch packs to prevent slipping, and reduce the shift overlap.

Autos are much more consistent - so if you're into bracket racing then go auto all the way. If you're into daily driving then a stick is much more efficient and fun.
