auto tranny gear lock

Is there a methode I could lock my tranny into 2nd or 3rd gear on a dyno run?
-Has NE1 tryed to do a run with the throttle position sensor un pluged?
-Has NE1 tryed a run with the knock sensor unbolted from the engine?

Why would you run your car like that? Besides tripping your CEL, it wouldn't shift right, and run with retatrded timing because of the disconnected KS.

If the KS is still plugged in and just not in contact with the engine you will not get a code and you wont retard the timing. Note that I was only talking about trying it on the dyno for real mesured results.

Ahhh unbolted from the engine. I missed that line.

Take OD/OFF and it wount shift out of 3rd into 4th. I don't think there's a way to lock it in 3rd for the entire run. The TPS has 2 plugs, one is simply a switch that sends a signal to the ECU to indicate closed throttle or WOT. If you figure out which plug that is, disconnecting it may let you pull in 3rd from a lower speed without it downshifting into 2nd.
