How do I replace M/T shift position sensor?

You probably already guess why I need to do this so I won't explain my stupidity. Lets just say there was some minute leakage (sweating) of transmission fluid coming from the bottom of the sensor BEFORE it broke.
I can't figure out how to get the black electrical wire to disconnect from the old sensor. There seems to be a piece of metal clamped on tight around the wire and part of the sensor holding them together. I gotta replace this thing in the next few hours before I lose sunlight and patience, so help me! Please!
