Just a quick question. I have a 1996 maxima gxe w/ 3.0/a4 v6 and was wondering if it had standard slip differential or high speed slip. Any info would be appreciated

Re: 96 maima gxe slip differential
I was reading on the RX7 forums the other day where some guy had raced a max in his FC and lost. then someone replied and said that some maxima's (only some) come stock with a limited slip diff. is this true? cuz I swear both my wheels spin when I slip off the line....

The Canadian 4th Gen Maximas came with an LSD as an option, but I do not believe any of the USDM models did.

I think the Infiniti I30's in the US came with a LSD whereas the US Maximas did not, but this might have only been on the 5 speed manuals.

All I30t has LSD....and it was optional on the regular I30s. LSD is available in auto and manual.

rcmarty, you can tell by looking at the silver plate on the passenger side of the firewall. The tranny code will end in a V if you have lsd and an A if you don't.

The tranny code for auto with lsd is RE4F04V
