problem after intsalling midpipe?

does anyone know if it is bad for me to hear the sucking sound coming from my K&N filter when I am at idle?? it has gotten so much louder with the midpipe than when i only had the filter. if anyone can tell me if this is normal or a problem, i would appreciate it.

this is weird because my friend's 98 Max with a monsterflow filter and midpipe is no where near as loud. you can only hear the sucking noise if you open the hood of his, but mine is so loud i can hear it inside my car with the windows down.

thats because the MF filter's foam element absorbs the resonance of the hissing noise that K&Ns make. if you look inside the monsterflow, it is almost "filled" with foam rather than hollow and empty like K&Ns
