How hard is this process on a 98'. i know you have to heat up the lenses and then remove the orange peice..and replace with white lens...

There is a small peice of red lens in the corner of the bottom part of the tails. does this get removed as well..

Where can you get the material for the lens..and how long does the process take..

Any pics please...Thanks all im going to do this this weekend along with hooking up some subs..

Clearing the taillights...

Clearing the tailights isn't that hard, if you take your time. Check out Cheston's page for detailed instructions at MaximaDriver.com . He has a list of the materials needed, and a bunch of pictures as well. The process took me about 3 to 4 hours cause I had a hard time heating up the lenses to seperate them. It takes patience. As for the small red piece in the lower corner of the tails, I covered it up with the new clear lense, and it looks pretty good. Hope this helps...

I left the red piece and covered it up with the clear lense. The red piece is not connected to the amber piece.

The little red piece is removeable

I think, there's acouple of people on the board that do it, and they remove the piece. However, they might do what Black97GLEnj said, and just cover it up. I'm not sure, I left mine with the little red piece in.

Yeah the red corner piece comes out with one screw. You can leave it (Maxed-Bandit) left his in. I preferred to take mine out.

Hit up my website - http://www.vsdev.com/brian/taillights.html

I'll update it and be more specific.

I'm a little confused...

so on the tailight part that is on the car(not the trunk) you can take out the top red piece and the bottom amber piece to make the whole thing clear? i just want to leave the top red and take the amber piece out. i can do that right? also, what can i use to heat it up to separate the lenses and will it be all gooey when i pull it apart? dont mean to sound stupid but ive never done it before. thanks

You heat up both sides, but becareful not to melt either side. It takes a good amount of heat to sepreate the two pieces.
