nice instructions

i liked your instructions they were really thourough
just one question though
can the same process be done for a 96 maxima?

From what I'm aware of, the 95-96 taillights aren't built like the 97+. I havent studied the 95-96's though.

Nope

For the 95-96s, the rear tail light is a single piece. THe yellow portion is physically attached to the rest of the light. In order to have clear lights on your Maxima, you have to purchase the clear tail lights and paint the bottom portion red. It is a very easy process, but will cost you some money for the clears. Good luck

Which side

of the light do you heat up the lense on the outside or the inside backing of the light aka the black part

When I heated it,

I heated the inside (plastic), outside (lense), and the sides in the areas where there were sides. Just heat everything around the edges and you should be good. Caution is the best word to describe doing this mod. Easy to break stuff but looks great when you finish it.

ereet's right, just heat all the way around it, and use CAUTION.
