Redline CF Hood, WSP Y, ApexI WS installed

Hey guys,

I had my Redline carbon fiber hood installed on thursday and it looks great. Huge weight reduction, but since I had some frame damage, they could not install hood pins. Doing 100 mph the hood shakes a little but holds perfectly. Fit is seamless and service was great. Thanks Ange!!! Great customer service. On friday I had my WSP Ypipe and Apex I exhaust installed. When I picked my car up from the shop, the car was loud as ***** . I drove around for while and it started to bother me how loud it was. I jacked the car up and the hangers were loose. I added some rubber pieces to the hangers to keep the muffler from swaying. Sound was reduced drastically!!! With the new exhaust system, my max hauls a$$. I really feel it starting from 3000rpm and up. Next on my list is my exedy clutch and hopefully a flywheel.

Hey... Im planning on getting a CF hood from ange as well. You said that your hood was rattling when you were going at high speeds? Do you know why? Is there a fitment issue? I frequent those speeds, and am afraid that something might happen (break, fly off, etc etc)... and why did frame damage prevent you from installing the hood pins? Thanks

Hey eternity its Aceface the guy at the shop with the Skyline bodykit and CF hood. How was your trip back home. My next install is some 19" SSR GT-3 with the precision braking 12.9 slotted big brake setup. I realized that to many maxima's have front end damage, and the reason for that is because we have lousy front brakes

CF hoods rattle at high speeds because they are so light and air gets underneath them. That's the entire reason for hood pins, to keep the hood securely fastened to the car while driving...doesn't mean anything is wrong with the hood, that is normal.

You definitely made the right choice by going with the WSP and Apexi setup. I have the same setup and love the sound! In a year or so, you might want to wrap your y-pipe because your car will start to make some unwanted noises (bees in a can).

too bad hood pins are basically a must have for cf hoods...looks so much cleaner w/o pins

is there anyway to provide stability without adding hood pins? I also like the clean look... but i guess that hood pins arent too too bad.
