The computer told me that 1156 bulbs are for the directional signals or turn signal. I am performing the taillight mod were you take out the amber lense and was wondering if that is the right bulb (orange of course).
I picked up a pair that says 1156A.

Yes, the 1156A is the correct bulb to use when clearing the tail lights. 1156 is stock and 1156A is the amber (orangeish-yellow) version of the same bulb. I am in the middle of my tail light clearing job as i type this and I am taking a little break to find out the best way to remove the housing....stubborn little %$#@$#!!!!
