I was wondering how A modded Max(Mevi,Cai,Ypipe ,Pulley Exhaust etc.) with no type of Forced induction would do against the 350Z. I've seen the Numbers on the Z for the 1/4 mile range from 13.9-14.1 and I know some Org members such as Nealoc187 who have hit the 13.6 mark, and there are many other org members who have the capability of reaching 13sec 1/4 mile times. Would it be a waste of time racing the Z, being that it has more power than us and is rwd?

 

if all you have is an intake, ypipe, and udp you will get your *** handed to you. Those cars come with 287 some odd hp. Given they are heavier they are still fast cars. Not many 4th gen 5speeds get low 14's with intake and y-pipe.

 

A while back, there was someone with a MEVI who raced the 350z on the highway and was dead even with it. I Myself am not going to race the Z with mods i have, I'm talking about Max's like Nealoc187 with most if not all the bolt-ons for the max. I would think he would give it a race for its money.

 

look on kazza for 350z videos, theres a few of a 350z vs 03 max vs gtp, im pretty sure those are the cars, the 350 sounds like its an auto too, not sure but either way it smokes both the max and the gtp everytime

I raced a 350Z. The guy had his chick in the car and the ac on. I had my ac off and practically no gas in the car. We both punched it in 3rd gear and we were dead even, until I redlined third and had to shift into fourth, he pulled like two car lenghts on me before we shut it down.

 

My personal experience:
Raced one on the highway, 60-115 almost dead even, at 120 he pulled on me.
(I know, I was stupid.)

At the track 2weeks ago:
A 350Z and a G35Coupe (both manuals) could not break 14.4s

 

the fastest 4th gen on this board gets walked by a stock 350z. Remember, Neal's 13.6 was on slicks.

 

walked...i dont think so...remember neal ran 13.9xx on streets.. rudy ran 14.0 on streets....with most 350s at 13.9-14.2 I dont think you could say "walked"

not saying the Max would win but these MAXs would not be "walked" by a stock 350z

 

If you had the MEVI it probably would of been closer.

 

There are a couple 350Zs that race at my track. They both run 14.2-14.4@96-98mph. Oddly, one is an auto and the other is a 6 speed. It's amazing to me that both of these cars are able to pull 2.0 60' rather consistently. Pretty much I'm even with them in terms of ET and I'm slightly quicker in the topend. Then there's the Procharged 350Z running a 6psi SC at my track that's pulling 13.2@109mph on bling-bling 19s.

Yes, Neal ran a 13.9 on street tires but he also had no front seat, spare, jack, or rear bench. I was there when he ran it.

Also, if I remeber correctly he ran against BriguyMax's stock 350z after he got his ECU and he still go pulled on. Brian's Z ran 13.9 stock.

Maybe "walked" means something different to you, but to me it means a close race where one car ends up pulling away by a car or two.

 

i'd say walked means ate up and chewed out by alot of car lengths to each their own

 

I've raced a 350Z on the Interstate a couple of times and those things are real quick. A heavily modded Max will keep up with one but will not pass one. Think about it: a 350Z has a six speed tranny with tons of more torque than a Maxima. A friend of mine just bought a G35 sedan with the 6-speed and he has raced a 350Z from a stop and neither car gained on the other. By the way, did you guys see the turbo 350Z in Motor Trend that ran a 12.79 1/4 mile!

 

If that is what walking away from someones is, then what is running away?

 

Don't try you are going to get beaten. With stripped interior and all my mods I get pulled by about 3 cars from 70-130 by a stock 350Z. Anyone who keeps up with a 350Z in a bolt on 4th gen is either racing against an automatic or racing against a 350Z that didn't downshift.

 

for the record i agree with ur definition of it, but when most ppl say walked i think they mean it as "walked all over" as if someone just walked on u... as distasteful as it sounds
