car keeps stalling after starter install

Well my starter had been on its way out for a couple of weeks now and today it officially died. So I went out and replaced it with one from Autozone. After the install the car started right up and drove great. Then I went to start it up after it sat for a couple of hours and as soon as I put it in reverse the car dies. It does it every time. No sputtering or anything, it just cuts out. It does fine when I shift to drive but it did die once when I drove it around the block. It idles normally. Any idea what this could be? I am going to check all of my sensors in the morning as it is dark now. Thanks!

check your Mass Air Flow Sensor...I think it's right under the starter, right?

when I had MAFS issues, my car would just DIE as soon as I put the
car in Reverse (well, and "Drive", but usually in Reverse).

That is going to be the first thing I check in the morning but I am not getting the service engine soon light? I would think it would come on if that was the problem??

fair enough...when I had "issues", I RARELY got a code...
no harm in checking...I have no other ideas for ya...check
to see if there's something blocking the airway?
